• Drag your clip to the Timeline to add it to your project. If you stopped and started your video multiple times and created more than one clip, drag the ones you want to keep to the Timeline
  • You should already be in edit mode but if not, click on the Scissors icon (next to the Camera icon) to switch to edit mode. Also, go to the View menu and make sure that “Show Clip Volume Levels” is not checked.
  • Start playing your video by clicking on the play button in the Viewer Controls and make notes of the timestamp of any parts of the video you want to remove
  • To remove a segment from your clip, scroll to the timestamp where the segment starts by pulling the player head on the Timeline bar or the bar underneath the Viewer
  • Press apple-T to split the clip at that point (or go to the Edit menu and select “Split Video Clip at Playhead”)
  • Scroll to the end of the segment that you want to delete and press apple-T to split the clip again
  • Click on the clip segment you’ve just created to highlight it and press delete to remove it
  • Review your changes by playing the video (you can scroll to a few seconds just before the deleted segment) to see if your change is what you wanted. You can undo your changes (apple-Z) to retrieve the deleted segment or fine tune your changes by dragging the right or left sides of the clip toward the center of the clip

If you drag the left side of the clip, you’ll probably need to move the whole clip towards the left so there isn’t a gap between the clip you’re editing and the one before it
  • Move the control at the bottom left hand side of the window to control the level of zoom in the timeline. Towards the left will “zoom in” and show you a finer timescale; toward the right will show you the whole timeline of your video in the Timeline
  • Finish editing out any unwanted segments
