Abstract:
The objectives of the study were: 1) To evaluate functional health literacy and how patients in an underserved population take medications; 2) To assess patient adherence to medication therapy between functional health literacy levels; 3) To assess patient understanding of medication therapy between functional health literacy levels; and 4) To evaluate discrepancies between patient-reported, prescription label (“bottle”), and electronic medical record directions.
