This week Miss Waters brought in articles about energy drinks and heart health. Each of you read through an article and wrote information down, stated your opinion, and provided some future steps we should take. Please respond in 3-4 sentences to the following:
1. Did you learn any new information on the topic of the effects of energy drinks?
2. Do you have a strong opinion either way on the topic... do you agree with the findings...
3. What should we do with this information?
Today after reading the article abou energy drinks i was surprised to see that in many states drinking energy drinks have caused many health problem. It was surprising seing the amts of caffeine energy drinks contain. With this new information we should do a research with the age gropus of people and what is the most frequent energy drink for them
i was surprised by the article i read because i got informed on energy drinks that has a lot of caffeine
I was really surprised with the information I read in the article. I thought it was pretty neat how they described teens drinking too many energy drinks as "toxic jock" ...something. I do agree with this statement because it's like following a trend in highschool. Energy drinks have become known as the "cool thing" among teens yet many of them are unaware of the dangers they may cause. As I mentioned in class I think our next step should be to survey young students from different age groups and find out which is their favorite, have they had any health problems because of energy drinks etc. and then chart this information to come up with some kind of statistic.
I got a very interesting article about the dangerous effects that energy drinks pose on people of all demographics. The emphasis was on an energy drink called Redline. In the article, many people told their experience with Redline, and how they had very bad side effects with it, to the point where some had to go to the hospital! I definately agree with energy drink's dangers, and people should pay attention to those tiny labels, before they have a heart attack. An idea I had during class was to do a survey, in which one would ask another what kinds of energy drinks they've had or tried, and if they had negative side effects, how extreme they were, or if they affected their heart.
WHEN I READ THE ARTICLE I HAD TO READ ABOUT CAFFEINE IN DRINKS REALLY AMAZED ME. I BELIEVE THAT IN THIS TIMES MANY BEVERAGES DO CONTAIN LOTS OF CAFFFEINE. HOWEVER THE ARTICLE SAID THAT SOMETIMES CAFFEINE IS GOOD TO BE IN THE DRINKS.AND ACCORDING TO ME BEVERAGES SHOULDN'T HAVE TONS OF CAFFEINE IN THEM. THEREFORE I BELIEVE THAT WE SHOULD SOME SURVEYS WITH SOME PEOPLE AND ASK THEM THE REASON WHY THEY DRINK BEVERAGES AND IF THEY HAVE FELT THAT CAFFEINE AFFECT THEIR BODIES.
The effect of energy drinks when combined with alcohol are very dangerous. Many people underestimate the effects that a little bit of vodka with a red bull can do and so I believe that more should be done to educate people about the serious consequences that can come from that combination. I think that we should investigate more with the information we already have to discover more about the effects of energy drinks on the human being.
I learned a lot of information from the article. I learned that a lot of energy drinks contain the same amount of caffiene as a cup of coffe. There are a number of energy drinks. Drinking these energy drinks can cause some side effects. It can prevent you from geting a good night sleep. And I can also cause your body to lose its strenght. I think we sould test some of these energy drinks and see how much caffiene they have.
After reading the articles i was really surprised because i didn't know energy drinks were that bad.I just thought they made you hyper and then crash.i was really surprised because i didn't know they could effect your baby and your heart.Energy drinks are not worth the 20 or 30 minute buzz.I agree with what the article said about them because it makes sense. They are bad for you!
I read the article on energy drinks and the effects of the amount of caffeine in the products. Also, how bad it is for your health, the amount of it compared to coffee and different energy drinks, and how they fail to show the nutrition information on the nutrition label. It wasnt new information and i think it just depends on the person on how your body effects to the caffeine in the energy drinks. It is not necessarily bad for you, depending on the persons body the outcomes are different. With my own experience i drink about 3 mugs a day of coffee with CAFFEINE and i can go right to sleep, i dont get energetic, i feel totally normal. And if i dont drink coffee i still feel fine. So they cant say caffeine is bad for you, even if you are a young madame like me :) Plus they have found coffee beans have an antioxidant that helps prevent certain types of cancers.
Yet what was on the article is true.
