This postercast is my senior research project. I argue that class and ethnic ideals, housing assistance from non-profit organizations and government agencies, and third party influences are the three main influences in the transition to homeownership for Chinese Americans. Specifically, this study will analyze scholarly research, interviews, surveys, and observations in the Chinese American community in San Francisco. This research contributes to the literature on immigrant housing. However, it will also be a way to understand the transitional attributes in Chinese American homeownership, and in the hope that it will promote immigrant homeownership that will one day lead to a more diversified political voice in America.
