DOE JGI Metagenomics Informatics Challenges Workshop: 10K Genomes at a Time -- Discussions Metagenomic studies are an important area for the DOE JGI now and in the near future. In the past two years a handful of large-scale metagenomic studies have emerged, revealing computational bottlenecks in data processing, integration visualization and comparative analysis. The main goal of this meeting, held October 12-13, 2011 at the DOE JGI, was to explore potential solutions to informatics challenges encountered in the studies of massive amounts of metagenome data.
