 <title>Micropillar Arrays for Analysis of Force Patterns in C. elegans Locomotion</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Using a compilation of three clips, this video introduces a microdevice capable of constantly measuring the force of nematodes in motion. The system consists of a micropillar-based device made of flexible polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and a vision-based algorithm for resolving force from the deflection of the cantilever-like pillars. Clip 1 shows a dual row pillar array for the measurement of nematode sinusoidal movement. Pillar deflections are small in this layout and ongoing work is aimed at allowing one to better match worm size to array spacing by including a nematode sorter.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Electrokinetic Concentration and Separation of Particles in Microfluidic Reservoirs</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;This video exhibits the selective concentration and separation of 3 um particles from 1 um particles in the upstream reservoir of a straight microchannel. This size-based particle sorting arises from the negative dielectrophoresis induced at the reservoir-microchannel junction where the size mismatch of the reservoir and microchannel creates strong inherent electric field gradients.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Electrothermal Flow in Insulator-Based Dielectrophoresis</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;In this video 600 nm fluorescent particles were used visualize the electroosmotic fluid flow in insulator-based dielectrophoresis devices. The interaction of Joule heating-induced fluid inhomogeneities and electric field causes electrothermal fluid circulations upstream and downstream the microchannel constriction. By varying the DC and AC field components, we observed different flow patterns in the constriction region due to the competition of electroosmotic flow and electrothermal flow.&lt;/p&gt;
