Instructions for saving out your powerpoint at 2400 pixels -- Discussions http://www.scivee.tv/node/10303/talks/1923 If you are having troubles saving out your PowerPoint with a high resolution so that the images and text are more clear, check to see if you used the following steps outlined below. Some commands may be slightly different on a pc, but let me know if this does not work: 1) From the main menu choose File > Save As 2) A dialog box will open where you can navigate to the location that you want to save your file (remember where that is on your computer so you can find it later). 3) From the dropdown menu choose pdf 4) Click the Options button 5) A Preferences window will open and under "Advanced Resolution Settings:" you can click the "Size:" radio button and change the size in the first box to width: 2400 (pixels) 6) Click "Ok" then "Save" Navigate to the place you saved the pdf on your computer. If you still don't have good luck let me know. I am happy to help! Apryl Re: Instructions for saving out your powerpoint at 2400 pixels http://www.scivee.tv/node/10303/talks/1923#m1971 Sorry Phuong, I meant the ai file. You may need to send it to: apryl@scivee.tv if it is a large file. If for some reason you cannot send it, try to export your file out of Illustrator as a jpeg and then send it in email. The pdf you posted is too small and I cannot up size it. Let me know if you need further assistance. Phuong, could you send your ai? Not sure if you did that before, but I can't see it anywhere... Can you please help me? My poster was created using Adobe Illustrator, not powerpoint. Below is an attachment of my poster in a PDF file. It should better now, but you may want to double check the synch points since we had to delete and re add them. Mar 5, 2009 http://www.scivee.tv/node/10303/talks/1923#m1967 Re: Instructions for saving out your powerpoint at 2400 pixels http://www.scivee.tv/node/10303/talks/1923#m1957 Andrew, After you upload the video you need to describe it, upload the poster, and then add synchronization points to your postercast. There is a tutorial that appears. At any rate it should only take about 5-15 mins for working on everything else after the video uploads. If something goes wrong, let me know. I'm using my wireless connection from my apt. It has never been known to be the fastest, as it is. It's about half way through now and fluctuates from as low as 59 min. to 113 min. I'm sure it'll be in by the deadline. What steps remain after the upload has finished? Thanks, Andrew Mar 5, 2009 http://www.scivee.tv/node/10303/talks/1923#m1956 Re: Instructions for saving out your powerpoint at 2400 pixels http://www.scivee.tv/node/10303/talks/1923#m1955 Kristin, I am sorry about that. Can you send me the pptx to my email at apryl@scivee.tv ? Mar 5, 2009 http://www.scivee.tv/node/10303/talks/1923#m1955 Re: Instructions for saving out your powerpoint at 2400 pixels http://www.scivee.tv/node/10303/talks/1923#m1954 Hi Andrew, It could be that the server is getting hit pretty hard with uploads at the moment because of everyone using it and synching their videos and posters. Just let it go for now, it might be lying about the time. Are you using a wireless or ethernet connection? Apryl Mar 5, 2009 http://www.scivee.tv/node/10303/talks/1923#m1954 Re: Instructions for saving out your powerpoint at 2400 pixels http://www.scivee.tv/node/10303/talks/1923#m1951 Hi, Apryl! I'm currently uploading my video but it seems to be taking a while. Is this normal? Is it just my connection from home that is causing it go slow? It's telling me it'll take over 113 minutes but then fluctuates up and down. It's an iMovie file....hopefully I didn't upload a super huge file. Thanks, Andrew Mar 5, 2009 http://www.scivee.tv/node/10303/talks/1923#m1951 Re: Instructions for saving out your powerpoint at 2400 pixels http://www.scivee.tv/node/10303/talks/1923#m1950 Thanks Apryl, but since you had to use the ppt and not the pptx, the formatting was pretty off with the fonts and pictures so I guess I'll have to keep the pdf I have on the scivee website with the incorrect background color. Mar 5, 2009 http://www.scivee.tv/node/10303/talks/1923#m1950 Re: Instructions for saving out your powerpoint at 2400 pixels http://www.scivee.tv/node/10303/talks/1923#m1949 HI Kristin, I opened your ppt and was able to save it as a jpg. See the attached below... Mar 5, 2009 http://www.scivee.tv/node/10303/talks/1923#m1949 Re: Instructions for saving out your powerpoint at 2400 pixels http://www.scivee.tv/node/10303/talks/1923#m1948 I don't have Office or Adobe Acrobat on my Mac so I converted to a pdf on someone else's computer. I have the pdf, pptx and ppt on my thumb drive. I'll attach the ppt here. But it won't look right because all of the settings aren't the same on 97-2003 as they are on 2007. The fonts get all over the place. I feel like the pdf is okay though because I uploaded it on our SRP website and then downloaded it and it looked right from there. Otherwise, please post your ppt file since the file I just tried to work with is yeilding an error that it is corrupted. Apryl Mar 5, 2009 http://www.scivee.tv/node/10303/talks/1923#m1946 Re: Instructions for saving out your powerpoint at 2400 pixels http://www.scivee.tv/node/10303/talks/1923#m1944 Hello Apryl, I have my poster in the pdf format. But when I upload it onto the scivee site to make my postercast, the background is black. It is green on my pdf and the original ppt. Any reasons why this is happening? Thank you!
