Performance Characteristics of an AP MALDI Ion Source Applied to the Thermo Scientific Exactive Plus

submitted by: Chrom Solutions

Dr Kerstin Strupat presents her scientific poster about singly charged AP MALDI-produced ions at high mass range using the Thermo Scientific Exactive Plus mass spectrometer. For the first time, intact bovine insulin at m/z 5734 is detected on an Exactive series mass spectrometer.

High Resolution Screening and Quantitative Analysis of Antibiotics in Drinking Water

submitted by: Chrom Solutions

Jonathan Beck discusses online sample pre-concentration and extraction of water samples followed by analysis with high-resolution, accurate mass (HR/AM) detection, quantitation and confirmation. Screening, confirmation and quantitation of antibiotics in drinking water was done in the same analytical run with the Thermo Scientific Orbitrap platform.

Human Cell-Free Expression System Generates Stable-Isotope-Labeled Protein Standards for Mass Spec

submitted by: Chrom Solutions

John Rogers presents his scientific poster about human cell-free expression system for the production of stable-isotope-labeled (heavy) proteins using HeLa cell lysates. Six different stable-isotope-labeled proteins were produced. Isotope incorporation efficiency of greater than 95% was observed for IVT reactions.

Rapid Proteomics Analysis Algorithm Development Using Thermo Scientific Proteome Discoverer Software

submitted by: Chrom Solutions

Iman Mohtashemi presents his scientific poster about node-based framework for proteomics data processing using Thermo Scientific Proteome Discoverer software and a hybrid ion trap-OribtrapTM mass spectrometer. This allows rapid deployment of custom algorithms without the need to develop graphical user interfaces and other input/output infrastructure saving you time.

Higher Resolution Improves Top-Down Protein Identification on Orbitrap Mass Spec for Large Proteins

submitted by: Chrom Solutions

David Horn presents his scientific poster on the necessity for high mass resolution (>200,000) for confidence in identification of proteins above 40kDa using yeast enolase. The comparison between various resolution settings for both direct infusion and LC-MS/MS data are shown, using the Thermo Scientific Orbitrap mass spectrometer to improve confidence and sequence coverage for identification of larger proteins.
